Client: Sacramento Placerville Transportation Corridor Joint Powers Authority
Role: Visual design; developed HTML & CSS
The SPTC-JPA manages an intriguing piece of Northern California history: the Placerville branch of the old Southern Pacific railroad. This section of the railway, which originates in Sacramento and extends to Placerville, is the oldest in the country west of the Mississippi. The SPTC-JPA maintains the old railbed, which is currently used as a public hiking/horseback riding trail.
Functionally, the SPTC-JPA needed a website to notify the public of board meeting times and be an informational resource for the community. To that end, I developed a historic look for the website, which draws on the heritage of the organization. After the layout was approved, I developed the HTML and CSS. Finally, I researched web domain name options and facilitated the purchase. Ultimately, SPTC-JPA was provided with an efficiently coded website that is easy to maintain, and which continues to be kept up to date.
