eBay Main Street is one of eBay Inc’s primary grassroots sites aimed at eBay “power users”. It is used to communicate about news that affect both those users and eBay itself.
Over the course of several years, I guided the front end development of the site, as well as helped with various site building tasks in the development of new features.
My biggest contribution on this site was transforming it into a responsive design, while maintaining a large amount of the look and feel that previously existed.
The largest challenge was dealing with the numerous feature requests over time, while still trying to maintain a solid code base. Functionality and design were componentized as much as possible, so things could be pruned or moved with as little in the way of global ramifications.
